Joe joined our team in August 2019 as Embalmer. While he is new to Knoxville, he is no stranger to Tennessee. Having spent the last five years as a licensed embalmer in Tennessee and even longer being dually licensed in Kentucky as a Funeral Director and Embalmer, Joe brings 16 years of experience in the funeral industry to our team having started working in and around the only funeral home in the community of his upbringing near Hazard, Kentucky while still in high school. Joe felt early on the funeral industry was more than an occupation but rather a calling. Knowing this, the choice to attend Mortuary College was seemingly predestined. Joe attended the Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, Indiana where he graduated with honors and has spent most of his professional career working alongside Funeral Service professionals throughout the region to prepare a "favorable memory picture" for the families they serve. Joe has been commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky, one of the highest civilian honors in the state. He is also a Member of the Free and Accepted Masons Buckner Lodge #631, a Shriner and Hillbilly. Joe is an ordained Minister and attends the Lexington United Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
