Tracy Denise McDowell

Tracy Denise McDowell, age 52 of Knoxville, departed this life and entered her eternal rest on April 3rd, 2023. 

Tracy was a kind-hearted, free spirit with a rebel soul. She was a lover of nature, the great outdoors, chilling on a riverbank, fishing, walking around barefoot, and wildlife. Her spirit animal and favorite was the American bald eagle. Plants were her passion, and she had a green thumb on both hands. She was loyal to a fault and a keeper of many secrets. She will be greatly and deeply missed by all who loved her. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Jimmy McDowell, Rebecca (Becky) and Bruce Miller, brother Brucie Miller, nephew Davey Hurst, uncle and best friend Jimmy Bales, cousins Stacy Bales and Jamie McCarter.

She is survived by her two sons, Dalton Walters (Hope) and Steven Cunningham. Also, her grandmother Betty Vinsant, the special man in her life, Bill Knight, her siblings, Jenny Manning (Freddie), James Miller, Buffy King (Jimmy), Amanda Gibson, Jesse McCecil (John), Kristie McDowell, Samantha McDowell-Robinson (Ginger) and stepmother Sara Pressnell. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, several aunts, many other family and friends including a lot of cousins, holding a special bond with Samantha Gibbs.

Her family will host a celebration of life on Sunday, April 16th at Suttree Landing Park, 1001 Waterfront Drive in Knoxville, TN. There will be a potluck lunch from 11:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. followed by a butterfly release at 1:00.
