Paul “Kevin” Lawson age 55 passed from this earth to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday August 1st. He was currently a resident of Knoxville, TN however he spent most of his adult life as a proud resident of Jefferson County, TN. Kevin had health issues for the past several years and recently suffered a stroke. Kevin had many nicknames and affectionately known as Big Daddy, Snowball, Big Kev and Old Man. He had a passion for truck driving, Tennessee football, fishing and his dogs. He was proud of the garden he was growing with his niece. He loved to snack and offer others a sandwich along with a Diet Mountain Dew. Kevin never met a stranger, was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a loyal friend. He loved to laugh and joke and make up crazy stories such as Hinchy Hollar and the infamous Freddie Johnson. He spent many years riding four wheelers with his high school buddies in a group they called “The Posse”. He loved family and friends gathering and having a loud full house while eating a pizza and playing cards or dominos. He especially loved family reunions and spending time with his aunts and cousins. Kevin was a devoted husband who would have been married to the love of his life 30 years this month. He was an amazing Father and Papaw who loved his children and grandchildren with a passion. He had a special place in his heart for his sister and was a devoted brother. He is survived by his loving wife Gail Lawson, his beautiful children April Britt, Tyler (Lori) Lawson, Ryan (Taylor) Lawson and Dillon Spurlock, his precious grandchildren, Katlin (Dalton) Linkes, Hunter Horsley and Wesley Lawson, his loving sister Kelly (Bobby) Stipes, Father-In-Law Wayne Claxton, Sister-In-Law Darlene (Chris) Houser, Brother-In-Law Tommy (Denise) Claxton. Special nieces and nephews Alicia, Keith, Haley, Cody, McKenzie, and Crystal. Special friends Ronnie Lane and Ronnie “Dragon” McDaniel and his Metro Trailers family (Omar, Melissa and many more) who will never forget the impact he had on their lives. He was preceded in death by his loving parents Pete and Mary Alice Lawson, his brother Keith Lawson, Mother-In-Law Cathy Claxton and Son-In-Law Josh Britt. In lieu of flowers the family has setup a memorial fund at TVA Credit Union for medical expense donations. Donations can be made at any branch in person or by mail. The family will receive friends at Asbury Church of Christ (2441 Asbury Rd, Knoxville, TN 37914) on Thursday August 6th from 5-7 with a memorial service immediately following. A time will be given for anyone who wishes to say a few words or share a memory about Kevin.
